About us

 

 MerMade Aquatics school was founded by Huntington Beach local Temple Jellerson to service the Orange County, CA area. MerMade has multiple instructors that will travel to you in the cities of Huntington Beach, Costa Mesa, Fountain Valley, Westminster, Newport Beach, Irvine. We can travel to further cities for an additional fee.  

 

Temple is not just the founder of MerMade Aquatic School, she is an extremely experienced instructor in her 20th year of teaching swimming.  Temple has been swimming competitively since age 4, and was a nationally ranked age group swimmer. She held a So Cal Swimming record, zone record, and placed numerous times at Jr. Nationals. She also participated in an invite-only camp at the Olympic Training Center.

     Temple went on to be a scholarship swimmer at NCAA Division I school CSU Fresno, where she broke a school record and was awarded Freshman of the Year. She currently still holds spots on the teams All-Time best list in the 400 IM and 200 Butterfly. Temple continues to be active by competing in open water swimming, surfing and running. She competes in the Annual HB Pier Swim, and finished first at the challenging swim from Alcatraz in San Francisco!

     At CSU Fresno Temple earned her bachelors degree in Kinesiology Exercise Science, as well as her master’s degree in physical therapy.  Besides teaching, Temple currently works as a licensed pediatric physical therapist, and is a board certified neurologic clinical specialist and board certified pediatric specialist.

     She is certified through the American Heart Association for Adult, Child/Infant CPR, Adult, Child/Infant AED and has been a certified American Red Cross Professional Lifeguard and Water Saety Instructor. In her spare time she loves to spend time and travel with her husband and son, surf, and run with her dog Lucy. Temple is a highly experienced, highly qualified instructor. Her extensive education and expertise in physical therapy, neurology and pediatrics truly allow her to teach and  train all skill levels, including those with physical and/or mental disabilities. She strives to serve all populations and brings exceptional experience and knowledge to her students.
